Katavi National Park, located in western Tanzania, is one of the country's most remote and least visited parks, covering 4,471 square kilometers. It's renowned for its large hippo populations in the Katuma River and pristine wilderness.
The park features diverse landscapes from grasslands to woodlands, home to elephants, lions, buffalos, and numerous bird species. The Chada and Katuma Rivers attract massive hippo pods and crocodiles.
Visitors enjoy game drives, boat safaris on the rivers, and walking safaris. Katavi offers an authentic, untouched African safari experience away from crowds.
Located in the Katavi Region, Katavi is accessible via flights to Katavi Airstrip or drives from Mpanda.
